There are generally no limits on the number of requests that can be submitted.  The Atkins Library participates in Reciprocal Lending agreements with other libraries, meaning that we lend our materials at no charge to those libraries agreeing to do the same.  Most ILL requests can be filled from one of our Reciprocal partners.  However, not all libraries participate in these agreements so we do incur some charges for ILL requests.  Consequently ILL reserves the right to:

• Limit the number of active requests during peak times. 

• Limit the number of requests that involve charges to our Library

• Ask patrons to pay any charge over $20 per request (patrons are notified before the request is processed)

In addition:

• The Interlibrary Loan staff will not order material owned by J. Murrey Atkins Library unless it has a status of missing or it is only available as an electronic book in our holdings and a paper copy is needed.

• Journals cannot be borrowed.

• Items that have just been returned cannot be borrowed again for at least 3 months. 

• Abbreviated titles and incomplete citations will not be accepted.
