Have books sent to your home and articles sent to your email address!*

All distance learners have access to the J. Murrey Atkins Library's print collection virtually!  Atkins Library staff will deliver books from the library collection to your home, and will scan and email journal articles to your desktop.

Simply register and log into your Interlibrary Loan account.  If you have not used Interlibrary Loan before, you will need to create an account with a username and password.  It is strongly suggested that you make it the same as your Novell and 49er accounts.

Next, click on either "Request Article" for an article request, or "Request Book" for a book request.  You can request and article or book that is held either by our library or other libraries - we'll send all of them to you!

Make sure to type in Distance Learner in the notes field to make sure you get your book or article (this service is not available to on-campus students)

When the article is ready (usually a few days) you will receive an email notifying you that the article is ready to download.  Log back in and download the article.  Keep in mind that we do our best to get them to you as fast as possible, but please make sure to plan ahead and make your requests early as it may take longer to process your requests at peak times during the semester.

All books will be sent to your home via UPS mail and are expected to be mailed back the same way.  You are also welcome to return the books to the library in person or through the bookdrop.

*Only students registered as Distance Learners through the Office of Distance Education are eligible for these services.  If you are unsure if you are a Distance Learner, please visit http://www.distanceed.uncc.edu/ for more information.
