Directions to the J. Murrey Atkins Library
Step 1 - Getting to Campus
- From north or south of Charlotte via I-85:
Take exit 45A (Harris Boulevard). Turn right onto Harris and go one mile to the exit for UNC Charlotte/Hwy 49. Turn left on 49; turn at light one mile on the left.
- From north of Charlotte via I-77:
Take exit 18 (Harris Boulevard). Turn left onto Harris and go seven miles to the exit for UNC Charlotte/Hwy 49. Turn left on 49; turn at light one mile on left.
- From south of Charlotte via I-77:
Take I-77N to I-85N and follow the above directions via I-85.
- From south of Charlotte via 485 East:
Take 485 east to the Harrisburg/Highway 49 exit. Turn right at the end of the exit and keep going straight on Highway 49. Go past the intersection of Highway 49 and Mallard Creek Church Road. Turn right into the main entrance of UNC Charlotte.
- From Concord area via US 29:
Turn left onto Harris Boulevard and go one-half mile to UNC Charlotte/Hwy 49 exit. Turn left on 49; one mile on left.
- From east Charlotte via US 74:
Turn right onto Harris Boulevard, and travel nine miles to UNC Charlotte/Hwy 49 exit. Turn left on 49; one mile on left.

Step 2 - Parking
- The main entrance to the university is at the stoplight at the intersection of University City Boulevard (Highway 49) and Suther Road.
- After turning into the main entrance bear to the left onto Broadrick Blvd.
- Follow this road as it curves around to the right. You will be forced to go left after you pass the pond on your right. Turn right at the next road. This short drive is between the Cone parking deck and a small parking lot.
- Make your first left, enter the Cone Visitor Parking Deck and go up a ramp to park.

Step 3 - Finding the Library on Campus
- From the Cone Visitor Parking Deck, walk across the pedestrian bridge which leads from the left parking deck of these two visitor's decks, enter the Cone Center and take the elevator on your left to the 3rd floor.
- Exit the elevator, go past a lounge area on your right and exit out of the next set of doors on your right onto a brick patio.
- Go past the seating area on the patio and bear to the left down a slight ramp. The Cone Center will now be on your left and the Atkins Library is the tall building in front of you, to the right.
- Turn right onto the brick sidewalk and go to the main entrance to the Library which is under the large columns.
- Upon entering the Library, you will see the Information Desk where you can ask for assistance.
