Scholarly Publishing Symposium available to view online
The Scholarly Publishing Symposium which was held on November
5, 2008 is now available to view via streaming video. You can view Peggy
Hoon and Pete Binfield's presentations on copyright issues and open access
journals. To view the presentations along with links to documents and an

Rare Book Roadshow coming on April 17th
Join us on April 17th to have your rare books,
maps, letters, and manuscripts evaluated by internationally known
rare book expert, Dr. John Sharpe. A viewing of the library's rich,
historical collections will be available, including rare and unique
materials dating to Charlotte's early history. Just like any Roadshow
there will be music and food and lots of fun! [ Details ]

Stop by the Atkins Library on Saturday, February 2nd for Parent's Day activities
Be sure to visit the J. Murrey Atkins Library on February 2nd between Noon and 2pm
where parents can relax, visit, and check their email over a cup of
gourmet coffee and live Carolina folk music. Atkins will have a number
of interactive experiences including personal viewing of original,
historical interviews from "New South Voices" or taped episodes from
"American Experience," "Frontline" and others. Library staff will also be
available to walk parents through Atkin's digital resources.
